Metal Mulisha Merchandising Intern
This Winter Quarter I interned for the La Jolla Group in Irvine, CA. There, I work with Metal Mulisha's merchandising team. As a merchandising intern, I saw the connection between design and consumers every week. I helped the merchandising, design and sourcing team pull prototypes and samples, prepare line-sheets, and track vendor orders. This was an amazing experience and I believe the classes that I have taken at AMM prepared me to easily catch-on and efficiently execute the given tasks.
Fashion Business, Inc. Nepal Cashmere Intern
In late-2014, I had the opportunity to intern for Fashion Business, Incorporated. Frances Harder, President and Founder, and I developed a market-entry strategy report for the country of Nepal. We gathered specific demographic and psychographic research to compile the report. We also listed specific outlets, vendors, retailers, trade shows, and web-based e-commerce platforms that could market Nepal's exclusive cashmere. AMM provided me with the knowledge and practice to conduct market research and analyze scholarly literature.
Bridal Sales Team Volunteer - Apparel Merchandising and Management
Outside the classroom, I help organize and promote the Apparel Merchandising and Management's monthly bridal gown pop-up sale. local designer donated these gowns to the AMM department, years ago.The AMM department has an inventory of over 1300 bridal gowns. Every first Saturday of the month, I help set up gowns and marketing the pop-up sale. I have held inventory, marketing and design responsibilities.
As I continue my education inside and outside the classroom, my passion to learn and gain industry-related knowledge grows. Every activity that I have done inside and outside the classroom has given me a better understanding of the consumer-centric industry the apparel and textile industry is. Also, all these experiences help shape what I hope to build one day; a nationally recognized, socially-responsible clothing brand.
